I became a photographer in the early 1990’s when I discovered I actually had a discernable personality and subsequently decided that accountancy probably wasn’t the right career for me.
After roaming the length and breadth of the country, photographing landscapes and other tourism related subjects, I created photonewzealand in 2000, spotting a gap in the market where the stock photography industry was changing.
In typical Kiwi style photonewzealand was ‘born’ in the basement/garage and has slowly grown over the past decade to being the largest and most comprehensive stock image library in New Zealand.
Marriage to Sue in 2005 brought some much needed balance to life and a stop to night and weekend work. Children (Lucy and Max) followed soon after and have brought real meaning to the words ‘work’ , ‘patience’ and ‘time, what time?’
I get a huge buzz from the many regular comments received from clients and photographers, praising the efforts of the photonewzealand team. They have all reciprocated my motivation and passion for this industry and truly thrive off doing the best job possible. They’re an awesome team!
And I love working with the many talented professional photographers represented by photonewzealand, both sides motivating each other to constantly improve.
