Mark's passion for landscape photography began while working as a Professional Hiking Guide on the Routeburn Track in Fiordland New Zealand.
It was a passion born of frustration in witnessing clients missing out on spectacular photo opportunities due to 'right place, wrong time' scenarios. He quickly learnt that this environment does not give up its secrets to everyone all of the time. To capture on film the true character of an area he recognised that patience would, in time, reward.
"There is something in the air, the smell, the sheer grandeur of Fiordland which I will never completely understand but which draws me back year after year."
With this in mind Mark has successfully released a series of postcards of the Routeburn Track and continues to photograph all over the South Island in the hope that the environment will reveal more of its secrets to his camera.
