Arno Gasteiger is an award- winning location photographer with extensive experience.
From his base in Auckland he works in Australasia for national and international clients.
In 1988 Arno Gasteiger moved from Austria to New Zealand to live and work. For many years New Zealand Geographic Magazine became for Arno a resource to work and to develop his photography. In over 60 major assignments he had the opportunity to learn about and photograph New Zealand and the South Pacific region. His passion and experience was rewarded with assignments from international magazines and companies in Europe and the USA. Arno is the author of six books. In his latest title FARM he explores the spirit of rural New Zealand. Arno’s work was represented in a photographic art auction at Sothebys in New York and his work is widely exhibited. Recently the series on Ta Moko, the art of Maori tattooing, was shown at the Museum for Worldcultures in Frankfurt and will travel in November 2007 to France. Since 1998 Arno is a member of the Advertising & Illustrative Photographers Association (AIPA). Commercial clients value his experience as a location- photographer, his unique approach to capture landscapes and his ability to observe and photograph people in a natural way. Arno’s work was acknowledged with several awards. Most recently his book CENTRAL won the illustrative category of the Montana Book Awards.
